Welcome to the Topia Virtual Poster Session! Topia is a spatial chat virtual world platform that allows for multiple concurrent discussions, simulating an in-person poster session.
For the best experience, we recommend using Chrome, Firefox, or Edge to visit Topia worlds.
The easiest way to find a specific poster in Topia is to locate the poster page on the conference website. From there, click on the [ Topia ] link to be transported directly to the poster's location in the Topia world. If you are accessing Topia from a different page on the conference website, you can use the provided link to enter the world and navigate to the posters you are interested in.
You may use the Topi Bike to move around the world. This can help you cover more ground faster.
You will need to sign in to Topia using your conference email address upon arrival. Only registered conference attendees are authorized to access the virtual poster session. To log in, select the "Sign In With Email" option.
For information on navigating, interacting, and sharing your screen in Topia, please refer to the Using Topia page. In particular, you may find the Topi Bike, Social Hub, and Share Your Screen sections helpful.
Once into the Topia world you can view the poster titles and thumbnails throughout the poster session. To see a poster you need to visit the Conference Poster Page and then click on the [ Poster ] link from that page [1]. To visit the Conference Poster Page on the conference website click on the icon[2] for the poster. From the Conference Poster Page you can view the paper abstract, open the poster itself, interact asynchronously via RocketChat, or download the paper itself (for main conference papers after they've been published).
Topia supports private zones where only people in that zone can see and talk to each other. Each poster in a virtual poster session is it's own private zone. To see and talk with a poster presenter move your topi into the poster area on the screen. Once there you will see the videos and hear audio for the people in that zone. If the author is present you can interact with the author just like in an in-person poster session.
If you are presenting your poster in a virtual poster session all you need to do is stay in your posters private zone. Once you are in the private zone you can talk with other people who visit your poster. You can also share your screen to discuss your work in further detail. See the Share Your Screen section on Using Topia Page. See also Poster Presenter Instructions (Virtual)
No [ Poster ] link will appear on the Conference Poster Page if the author has not uploaded a poster. ↩︎
The sprite for the is a index finger pointing hand icon with the hotspot in the middle of icon. To click on the External Poster Link move the hand icon completely over the icon instead of using the the index finger to point at the icon. Topia has been notified of this issue. ↩︎
