Conferences usually invite a few speakers to give a plenary talk. These talks are highlights of the conference. They are usually prerecorded and streamed video immediately followed by a Q & A.
The Program Committee selects high level speakers for the conference, and if accepted what day they will speak. Each Foundation will decide on how many speakers are needed. The Board usually reviews the speakers to make sure we are diverse in the selections.
For each invited speaker, a title, abstract, bio, and headshot is to be collected for the website. If in person, a hotel room, complementary registration, and reimbursements for flights and food need to be arranged. For virtual, SlidesLive will need to send them a link to record their presentation, and a time slot will need to be determined.
Consider using the eventswithbios view, e.g. /virtual/2023/eventlistwithbios/invited%20talk for both Invited Talks and Panels. This view does a better job of showing headshots.
