A workshop is a smaller meeting on a specific topic, these come after the main conference and are held Friday and Saturday. The Foundation provides a room, AV, and catering to host the workshop if in person. Having enough rooms to accommodate workshops in person needs to be calculated before acceptance. Level 5 needs to review the venue’s contract to see how many rooms will be available for workshops (reference Santa Clara room list in the documentation file).
The call for workshops is prepared by the workshop chairs, example here. The accepted workshops are put into the database and the workshop scheduler is used to develop the schedule and speakers. The workshops will be assigned time blocks and the workshop organizers will be able to split and edit the respective events in their block on the website, an example virtual workshop calendar can be found here.
